A directory you can move through.

A browser-based map for an enclosed shopping center. Visitors search the directory, open a store, and get walking directions through the property.

We brought the floor plan, tenant information, interface, and route finder together in one application.

A whole center. A simple place to start.

Search by name or browse shopping, dining, entertainment, and amenities. Open a store to see its details and location.

Directory view: a search box, popular stores, and categories for shopping, dining, and entertainment over a close view of the whole center, with Target, Macy’s, Regal, and labeled stores and restaurants along the corridors.

The directory brings store information and the map into the same view.

Made for the walk.

Store information stays close to the map. Directions connect the starting point and destination along the property’s corridors.

  • Open a store. Find its details.
  • Choose a destination. Follow the route.
A store detail card on a phone, with the store’s location on the map and a button for directions.
Store details
The map on a phone, with a route from Nordstrom to Barnes & Noble and a two-minute walking summary in a bottom sheet.
Walking directions

The plan becomes the map.

The property’s floor plan was traced into units, corridors, and entrances. Tenant information lives separately, so a store change can be a data edit instead of a new drawing.

The application combines React, MapLibre, and a route finder, with a WordPress shortcode for embedding it in a property website.

Project notes

Scope
Interface design, property map data, searchable directory, walking routes, and website integration.
Context
Built and tested against one enclosed center ahead of a public rollout.
Why it matters
A property’s own plans and tenant list become a searchable map with walking directions, updated by editing data, not artwork.
